As we begin to come together as a community again, local couple Tim and Julia O'Connor feel this is the perfect time to launch their Community Interest Company, Literally Shepton.

The festival will take place over the weekend of July 9 to 11 with a variety of comedy, theatre, music, spoken word, author visits and a short story and play wright competition.

Events will take place at Shepton Community Bookshop, The Art Bank and a Love your Library event at the newly refurbished town library.

Tim and Julia said: "This will become an annual event, and have something for all the community to enjoy and celebrate.

"Overall we want it to be fun, engaging, inspiring and a reason to get together after a difficult year for many people."

The line-up is taking shape and their Literally Shepton website and Facebook page will be updated with details.

If you feel you would like to get involved in the festival in any way either by submitting an idea for an event or as a volunteer, contact Tim and Julia at [email protected] or call 01749 939681.
