Hospitality Heroes: Looking forward to a busy season at Oakhill Camping and Caravanning
Welcome to our Hospitality Heroes series on Shepton Mallet Nub News.
We will be providing you with a profile of a number of fantastic hospitality venues ahead of their reopening in April and May.
The industry has been hit particularly hard with pubs, restaurants and holiday accommodation only open for four out of the last 12 months.
Today here is everything you need to know about Oakhill Camping and Caravanning.
Situated on Lime Kiln Farm near to Oakhill Recreation Ground, the site is run by the Alvis family, and Mandy Alvis says they are looking forward to a busy season once they are able to fully reopen.
Mandy told Shepton Mallet Nub News: "We are planning to reopen on April 12 for mainly motorhomes and caravans but tents too if they bring their own toilets, etc, as we cannot open our facilities until May 17.
"We are nearly booked for the end of May bank holiday already and it is looking to be a busy season.
"We should be fully reopened by June 21 in as much as group bookings will be acceptable then, under current Covid restrictions.
"We have installed a new fence across the campsite to make it a little more secure on site and new fire safety equipment has been installed to ensure we keep our visitors safe. We are Covid Ready under Visit England regulations too."
