Funding boost for Shepton groups: Town Council grants open soon
Community groups and organisations in Shepton Mallet are being encouraged to apply for financial support as the Town Council's latest round of grant funding opens on 1 February 2025.
The scheme, which runs twice a year, aims to support local groups in delivering projects, maintaining facilities, putting on events, or providing essential services for residents.
In the past, it has funded a wide range of initiatives, helping organisations achieve their goals and benefit the community.
The council operates three grant programmes:
- One-off Small Grants: Funding from £1 to £500 for specific projects.
- One-off Large Grants: Funding between £501 and £2,000 for both revenue and capital needs.
- Strategic Grants: Funding for longer-term projects through a Service Level Agreement (SLA). These are only awarded in exceptional circumstances for services deemed critical to the town's well-being.
Applications are open to properly formed groups, clubs, committees, or charities with clear community or charitable aims that will benefit Shepton Mallet residents.
To find out more about eligibility or to discuss your project, email [email protected] or call the council office on 01749 343984 for an informal chat.
