Community groups and organisations in Shepton Mallet are being encouraged to apply for financial support as the Town Council's latest round of grant funding opens on 1 February 2025.

The scheme, which runs twice a year, aims to support local groups in delivering projects, maintaining facilities, putting on events, or providing essential services for residents.

In the past, it has funded a wide range of initiatives, helping organisations achieve their goals and benefit the community.

The council operates three grant programmes:

• One-off Small Grants: Funding from £1 to £500 for specific projects.
• One-off Large Grants: Funding between £501 and £2,000 for both revenue and capital needs.
• Strategic Grants: Funding for longer-term projects through a Service Level Agreement (SLA). These are only awarded in exceptional circumstances for services deemed critical to the town's well-being.

Applications are open to properly formed groups, clubs, committees, or charities with clear community or charitable aims that will benefit Shepton Mallet residents.
