Free food on Christmas Eve at Shepton community event

By Laura Linham 22nd Dec 2022

Shepton Mallet's community fridge is hosting a free food giveaway on Christmas Eve.

There are 100 mince pies, mulled apple juice, sausage rolls and sweetie bags for the kids, as the fridge marks its first festive season.

There will also be tons of fresh fruit and festive veggies like sprouts, parsnips, potatoes, butternut squash, onions, carrots and apples.

All of the food has been donated by big supermarkets, and small local businesses.

There will also be a super full fridge of pantry long-life items, bakery and treats for the community to share.

The giveaway takes place at the Community Fridge, at the pedestrian crossing by Screwfix in the Townsend Retail Park, between 11am and 12.30pm
