Residents of Shepton Mallet will have the opportunity to experience the life of an on-call firefighter first-hand at an upcoming event.

Wells Fire Station is set to host a 'Have a Go' taster day on Saturday 6 July, providing an invaluable chance to gain insight into this crucial community role.

This three-hour morning session will start with an introduction and informative briefing about the role and duties of an on-call firefighter. Participants will then have the chance to don personal protective equipment and undertake a breathing apparatus guideline exercise, providing a taste of the practical tasks involved in the job.
