Local organisations and community groups in Shepton Mallet are reminded that the deadline to apply for community grants is fast approaching, with applications closing on 13th May.

Shepton Mallet Town Council encourages local entities needing financial support for projects or ongoing services to submit their applications soon.

The Town Council offers a community grants scheme aimed at helping local organisations achieve their goals. These grants can support new projects or the continuation of services and serve as matched funding.

To be eligible, applicants must represent a properly formed group, club, committee, or charity with clear charitable or community objectives that benefit the residents of Shepton Mallet. The council has outlined three types of grants available:

  • One-Off Small Grants: For immediate funding needs, offering between £1 and £500 for specific projects.
  • One-Off Large Grants: For more substantial project funding, providing between £501 and £2,000 for both revenue and capital expenses.
  • Strategic Grants: Designed for long-term support over multiple years, granted under special circumstances through a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the council.

Applicants are required to comply with General Data Protection Regulations, confirming consent for the council to retain their details to process the application. Applicants must review the Grants Policy before applying to ensure all requirements are met.

Applications should be submitted via email to [email protected]. For further details and to access the application form, please visit the Shepton Mallet Town Council's official website.
