The children might be going back to school, but that is not stopping lots of events taking place in Shepton Mallet.

A number of these events in the Shepton Mallet area are being added to our recently revamped What's On section.

Our top event pick for this week is the Shepton Mallet Men's Shed, which takes place at Unit 8 on the Charlton Estate.

Shepton Mallet Men's Shed meets on Tuesdays and Wednesday from 9am to noon, and on Thursdays from 9am to 4pm.

It started life in September 2017 and was established to counter the isolation and loss of direction that many men experience through retirement, unemployment, poor health or bereavement.

The group provides companionship, activities and the opportunity to learn and share skills for people of any age.
