The sound of steam engines will be heard at Cranmore once again as the East Somerset Railway opens for an exciting summer of events and experiences.

From March 12 the heritage railway will be open at weekends, additionally Wednesdays from the beginning of June and also Thursdays during the school summer holidays.

New for 2022 are two Murder Mystery dining evenings to be held on May 28 and September 10. Murder to Measure theatre company will be providing more than a dash of excitement and mayhem to the 1920s themed, Murder on the Cranmore Express and As You Wave Me Goodbye which is set in the 1940s.

The hugely popular Children's Character Days return with Peter Rabbit on April 20, Paddington on June 1 and Peppa Pig on August 6.

The nostalgia filled event, The Way We Were, will be swinging to the tunes of the 1940s and 50s with entertainment from The Grey Dogs Jazz Band and Ruby Jazz over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Period re-enactment groups and individuals are invited to contact the ESR to book a place at the three day extravaganza.

PLEASE NOTE -

With the small tank engine, Lady Nan, which is used for Driver for a Tenner rides, still stopped for repairs and the uncertainty of the coal supply in current climates, the ESR has decided to postpone the Steam Gala originally planned for March 26/27 until later in the year. Further details to follow in due course. Event days are charged at special rates. Standard Day Rover tickets cost £11 Adult, £10 Concession, £9 Child, 2 Adult/2 Children Family £34, 1 Adult/2 Children Family £25.
