Driver warned after resident films anti-social driving in Shepton Mallet
By Laura Linham 9th Oct 2026
A driver has been issued with a police warning after a Shepton Mallet resident supplied footage of anti-social driving.
The action follows repeated concerns about excessive vehicle noise and cars drifting around the small roundabout near the car wash on Station Road.
In her October update, Cllr Claire Sully said police had issued a Section 59 warning. The vehicle could be seized if the behaviour is repeated.
Residents have contacted both Cllr Sully and Tessa Munt MP about the problem. The councillor has raised it with neighbourhood officers and the Police and Crime Commissioner.
The car wash owner is working with police and has agreed to anti-social behaviour posters being displayed at the site.
Letters explaining how to report incidents have also been delivered to residents at the top end of Kingsland Road. Patrols will continue at different times of day.
Cllr Sully encouraged people affected to report incidents so officers can build a clearer picture.
Anti-social driving can be reported on 101 or through the Avon and Somerset Police website.
