A £700 donation from Jackson Drilling Holdings Ltd will help support young carers across Somerset this Christmas.

Ros Clapp, the owner of Jackson Drilling Holdings Ltd, supported Friends of Somerset Young Carers after recognising the importance of the charity's work. The donation will fund Christmas gift vouchers for young carers and contribute to new marketing leaflets aimed at raising awareness of the charity's services.

Operations manager Richard Steele welcomed Alison Adlam, chair of Friends of Somerset Young Carers, to the Jackson Drilling office last week to present the cheque.

Ms Adlam highlighted the difference the charity makes to young carers, who often shoulder the responsibility of caring for family members with long-term illnesses or disabilities. The new leaflets will help ensure more families across Somerset can access the support they need.

Lily Behan, a spokesperson for Jackson Drilling Holdings Ltd said, "We are thrilled to support Friends of Somerset Young Carers and the incredible work they do for our community. Their dedication to making a difference in the lives of young carers is truly inspiring, and we are grateful to contribute to such a worthy cause."

The charity provides emotional and practical support to young carers throughout the county, ensuring they have access to resources and opportunities to thrive despite their challenges.
