The Mendip School in Shepton Mallet is looking for volunteers to help build a fire pit, shelter and seating area to have forest school gatherings.

A spokesman for the school said: "We have funding, but need the people power to construct the forest school area with a collapsible shelter, story circle of seats or benches, fire pit and storage space.

"Can you help construct the area? We need wood carvers, choppers and general handy people please!"

The Special School caters for children from 4 through to 19 with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
