There are reports of a crash on the A37 in Downside, on the edge of Shepton Mallet, this afternoon (September 28).

The accident is believed to have happened at the junction of the A37 and the B3136, and the A37 is said to be partially blocked in both directions.

The incident is causing delays in the area, with traffic satellites showing that vehicles are queued back to Kilver Court heading towards Shepton Mallet, and to the bottom of Long Hill in the other direction.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and find a different route.
