Shepton Mallet is gearing up for its annual Collett Park Day, a community celebration that showcases the best of local charities, arts, and community groups.

This community festival, scheduled for 8 June 2024, will take place in - as the name suggests - Collett Park, a space generously gifted to the town by John Kyte Collett in 1906.

As visitors wander through the park, they will be treated to an array of live music performances set on the iconic bandstand, alongside an assortment of community acts and activities.

The event promises a delightful day for families and individuals alike, with more than 50 stalls offering everything from handmade soaps to vintage clothing and natural dog treats.

Food lovers will have plenty to choose from, with an impressive lineup of food trucks serving a variety of treats, including a hog roast, wood-fired pizza, Thai food, burgers, fish and chips, fresh doughnuts, ice cream, and bubble tea.

For those looking to unwind with a drink, a well-stocked bar will be available within the park.

The festival is not only about food and music but also celebrates community involvement. There will be numerous community stalls hosting tombolas, arts and crafts sessions, skittles, face painting, drumming experiences, and even model boats on the lake.

A highlight for many will be the Fire Engine display, which is always a hit among attendees of all ages.

Collett Park Day is more than just a festival; it's a day to celebrate the community spirit and cultural heritage of Shepton Mallet, honouring the legacy of John Kyte Collett and his generous gift. Don't miss out on this day of fun, food, and festivity.
