Celebrating excellence at Whitstone School in Shepton Mallet

By Guest 16th Jul 2021

Whitstone School, in Shepton Mallet, held a special celebration evening for 104 students and their parents to recognise their outstanding achievements.

The evening began with an address from headteacher Gill Rennard who spoke about the incredible efforts of the Gold Excellent Students, and praised their attitude to learning and their approach to school life.

The Excellent Student Award focuses on attitude to learning and effort in class, regardless of ability.

Last year's Gold Excellent Students were each presented with a specially selected book as a reward for their consistent hard work.

Sporting Colours were awarded to five Year 11 students for their dedication to sport: Ellis, Izzy, Keeley, Alex and Sarah-Jayne.

The Annabel Dudley Sports Personality of the Year Award was presented to Emma (pictured) for her attitude, dedication and endeavour in sport.

Emma's work with younger students in dance and her dedication to the discipline has been incredible during her time at Whitstone School.

The evening concluded with musical performances from Emma and Kyra.
