Mark your calendars – Collett Park Day is back and gearing up to be Shepton Mallet's biggest day out of the year.

The town's much-loved community celebration returns on Saturday 14 June 2025, bringing a packed day of live music, local grub, and family fun to the leafy grounds of Collett Park – the gift that keeps on giving since John Kyte Collett handed it over in 1906.

And if last year was anything to go by, this one's going to be even bigger.

Expect over 50 stalls with everything from handmade crafts and vintage clothes to chutneys, gifts and fudge. Hungry? You'll find everything from Thai curries and hog roast to fish and chips and wood-fired pizza. And yes, the fresh doughnuts are back.

Local favourites will be lighting up the bandstand, while the people's stage is set to host everything from Tai Chi demos to dance performances. And of course, it wouldn't be Collett Park Day without a fire engine, a face-painting frenzy, and a small army of sugar-fuelled kids bouncing around the inflatables.

But it's not just about turning up – organisers are now calling on the community to get involved.

Whether you run a charity, make handmade crafts, sell food, or just want to support a proper local event, there are plenty of ways to be part of the big day. You can apply for a community stall, trader pitch, food truck space – or even chip in as a sponsor.

Whether you're there for the music, the market, or just a very decent hot dog, you'll be part of something that shows off the best of our town.
