Beauty salon could be opening in Stratton-on-the-Fosse after planning approval given

A beauty salon could soon be opening in Stratton-on-the-Fosse after planning approval was given by Mendip District Council.

The application for change of use from B1a (office) to Sui Generis (beauty salon) at Manor Courtyard, The Steading, Fosse Way to Manor Farm, Stratton-on-the-Fosse, was made by Robert Addicott.

Sui Generis means unique, and the salon could be opening on the Manor Farm site because a previous tenant is leaving the property due to a change in business direction.

Planning applications in the Shepton Mallet area which have been submitted to Mendip District Council include:

Change of use of land to residential, erection of a detached garage with associated hardstanding and the construction of a landscaped bund at Owley Farm, Snagg Lane to Redlands Farm Lane, Ditcheat, has been applied for by Messrs D and J Nash.

Single storey rear extension, and new dormers at 160 Stockhill Road, Chilcompton, is wanted by Mr N Button.

Two storey side extension and rear conservatory at 19 Bellfield, Leigh-on-Mendip, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Phelps.

Application for a proposed lawful development certificate for replacement of existing single storey side extension at Station House, Piers Road to Southill House, West Cranmore, has been made by Mr Bernard Grimes.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 7 (Bat Box), 13 (Surface Water Drainage), 14 (Foul Water Drainage), on planning consent 2019/1813/FUL at The Forge, Dark Lane, North Wootton, has been made by Sebastian and Lizbeth Galbraith-Helps.

Application for prior notification of agricultural development for a proposed building on land at Limekiln Lane, Stoke St Michael, has been made by Mr Andy Gregory.

Works to T1 Ash Tree - Fell. covered by TPO M1078 G1 on land at Boundary Close, Holcombe, has been applied for by Mr Phil Shirley.

Replacement of existing outbuilding with a similar sized building of sympathetic character at Hornblotton Mill, Church Lane, Alford, is wanted by Mr and Mrs C Horn.

Application to remove condition 2 (holiday occupancy restriction) of planning approval 100239/003 for the conversion of barns to form 3 bedroom holiday let at Barrow Farm, Holiday Let, Barrow Lane, North Wootton, has been made by Mr N White.

Change of use of agricultural land and engineering works to provide access and hardstanding (permeable) for staff and trailer parking on land next to Willmotts Business Park, Waterlip, has been applied for by Mr A Stott.

Application for prior approval of telecommunications development for a dish antenna, four horn antenna and a ground base equipment cabinet, 330mm x 400mm x 230mm at Bullocks Farm, The Street, Wanstrow, has been made by Voneus Ltd.

Application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2019/0346/OTA for the erection of a single dwelling and associated access, matters of access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale to be determined at Rodmore Farmhouse, Rodmore Road, Evercreech, has been made by Mr and Mrs Cradock.

Application for a non-material amendment to planning permission 2019/1154/FUL to include: blocking of door to the existing utility, opening of previously blocked window in the former dairy to allow for the fitting of an emergency egress window and woodburner flue adjustments to allow for this and installation of extract fan vents serving kitchenette and shower room in former dairy at Little Oakhill, Brewery Lane, Oakhill, has been made by Mr Neal Hendey. Also application for a non-material amendment to permission 2019/1155/LBC for alterations to the existing house, use of historic dairy as a holiday let, change of use of the sheep barn from agricultural use to allow holiday let use at the same address.

Internal adjustments to the farmhouse including a new staircase and new external doors, improvements to the existing detached garage building, erection of a timber potting shed in place of a demolished garage and new entrance gates at Highcroft Farm, Old Frome Road to Underhill, Gurney Slade, by Mr and Mrs Budd have been approved.

Insertion of door on car port at 3A Waterer Way, Shepton Mallet, by Dr Robert Hardy has been approved.

Application to drop kerb to allow access to for off-road parking at 31 Mendip Vale, Coleford, by Mr Alan Boorer has been approved.

Application for confirmation of compliance with condition 1 (works have started before three year expiry date) on planning consent 2014/0205/HSE at Westbrook House, High Street, North Wootton, by Mark and Penny Taylor has been approved.

Proposed single storey rear extension at Woodville House, Bowlish Lane, Shepton Mallet, by Mr Matthew Cook has been approved.

Erection of conservatory at Emmaus, Wells Road, Chilcompton, by Mr and Mrs Turner and Owens has been approved.

Application to vary condition 2 (plans list) of planning approval 2019/1813/FUL (Redevelopment of Existing Workshop with a 3 Bedroom Dwellinghouse, along with Conversion and Extension of Existing Dwellinghouse to Studio/Workspace and Ancillary Accommodation for Tourism or Annexe Use) due to a material change on site at The Forge, Dark Lane, North Wootton, by Sebastian and Lizbeth Galbraith-Helps has been approved.

Application for a proposed lawful development certificate to remove existing garage doors, build wall, insert window and render wall at The King William Inn, 32 West Shepton, Shepton Mallet, by Mr Michael Williams has been approved.

Erection of single storey rear extension at Altavona, Holcombe Hill. Holcombe, by Mr Stuart Forsey has been approved.

Application for a non-material amendment to permission 2019/2758/FUL for the re-configuration of kitchen producing addition of patio doors and a deletion of window, bedroom 2 - movement of skylight window at Acorn Lodge, Holcombe Hill, Holcombe, by Mr David Anthony Simpson has been approved.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 3, (Fencing Materials) on planning consent 2019/2970/FUL on land at Forum Lane, Shepton Mallet, by Ms M Ayton has been approved.
