B3136 closed out of Shepton Mallet after crash at accident blackspot crossroads

The B3136 is closed heading out of Shepton Mallet towards Pilton this evening (August 4) following a crash at a notorious crossroads.
The road is shut in West Shepton from the junction with Old Wells Road through to the junction with the A361 following the incident at the crossroads where the B3136 Lamberts Hill meets the Ridge Lane.
The crash happened at around 6.30pm, and an air ambulance has recently landed close to the scene.
It is not known how long the road will be closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
This is the second crash at the crossroads in a week, following a collision between a Vauxhall and a Ford on Friday July 30.
