Another brick in the wall: Can you help create the walls for the section of the Strawberry Line in Shepton?

By Emma Dance 2nd Oct 2022

Volunteers are being sought to help the wallers build the dry stone walls for the section of the Strawberry Line multi-user path near Shepton.

Mendip Councillors voted to give extra funding to the section of the traffic-free path which runs from the West Shepton Playing Fields on the B3136 West Shepton to Summerhill Lane via Ridge Road, with the aim of having the section completed by Christmas.

Wallers are hard at work, but they are appealing for volunteers to come forward to help sort the stones to speed up the work.

Anyone who is interested in lending a hand can turn up at the site just beyond the West Shepton playing fields between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, or on Saturday morning.
