On July 16, the town will be full of wonder-weavers, magic-makers and story-smiths, entertaining crowds as the fabulously fun All the World's Our Playground Festival returns to Shepton this summer.

Celebrating some of the finest creative talent from in and around Shepton, the free family theatre and dance bonanza will take place across outside and inside spaces and programming will be supported by 21 Youth Arts Ambassadors in Shepton Mallet.

The theme of this year's festival is 374 Ways to Change the World – work with a social conscience that inspires us to be better and to take care of the world around us.

The festival is organised by Make the Sunshine, in connection with Shepton Mallet Town Council, Mendip District Council, Wells Festival of Literature and St Paul's Junior School.

For the past few months, six schools from around Shepton have been working on a 372 Way to Change the World Project. Bowlish Infant School, St Paul's CofE VC Junior School, Shepton Mallet Infant School, St Aldhelm's VA Church Primary School, Croscombe and Stoke St Michael School Federation, students have all been exploring how creativity can be used to create change and make a difference to people's lives and the world around them.
