Accident blocks main road at Steanbow for more than two hours

The road at Steanbow was blocked for more than two hours yesterday afternoon (Thursday, July 14) after a crash involving two vehicles.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were all called to the incident on the A361 near the delivery entrance to Worthy Farm at around 4.30pm.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We were called at 16:24hrs on Thursday 14 July to an incident near Pilton. We sent two land ambulances and conveyed two patients by land ambulances to Yeovil District Hospital."

The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A361 in the Steanbow area at about 4.30pm." According to police the road was cleared at around 6.45pm.
