Frome storage yard expands to 104 containers
By Laura Linham 27th Oct 2026
Giant Storage has added 30 containers to its Frome yard since late August, bringing the total at The Cotton Works to 104. The family-run company says demand from local households and businesses has prompted the expansion, with further additions planned.
Founder Henry Langdon said customers were using the site while moving house, downsizing and making space at home. The yard offers containers in 8ft, 20ft and 40ft sizes.
"Frome has been one of our busiest sites this year," said Henry. "People are moving house, downsizing, running businesses from home or just running out of room, and they want somewhere close by that's simple to use. We keep adding containers because they keep filling up, and we've no plans to stop."
The expansion comes ahead of winter, when the company says customers also seek space for garden furniture, outdoor equipment and other seasonal belongings. Containers are at ground level, allowing customers to drive up to the doors to load and unload.
The Frome site has gated access and CCTV, with customers able to access their units around the clock. The company says prices start at £115 a month including VAT, with seven days' notice required to end a rental.
Giant Storage holds Trading Standards Buy With Confidence approval.
Founded by Langdon in Salisbury, Giant Storage now operates seven sites across Somerset and Wiltshire. Further information about the Frome yard is available on the Giant Storage website.
