Closed as a working prison in 2013, Shepton Mallet Prison re-opened it's gates to the public in 2017 to show you the inside of a jail.

One of the oldest jails in the UK, you can now walk around at your leisure, join a Guided Tour, Ghost Tour, Overnight Stay, Escape Room or one of our other activities.

Shepton Mallet Prison is available to hire privately for a party, hen and stag dos, filming and many other reasons.

Learn about prison history or just enjoy sitting in a cell. Whatever your choice, please take the kids home with you at the end of your visit.
