Figures show that between 17 November 2022 and 23 November 2022, 582 people in Mendip took tests for Covid19 - an increase of 75.3% compared to the previous 7 days.

Between 13 November 2022 and 19 November 2022, just four people had a confirmed positive test result - an increase of 33.3% compared to the previous 7 days. Figures also so that the NHS in Somerset have been caring for 28 coronavirus patients in hospitals as of Wednesday - up by one person on the previous week.

But there were 60 beds occupied by Covid19 patients four weeks ago in Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

Across England, there were 4,600 people in hospital with Covid as of November 23, with 117 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has decreased by 50% in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 47%.

And thankfully, there have been no more coronavirus deaths recorded over the latest weekly period in Mendip.

What to do if you have coronavirus (COVID19) or symptoms of COVID19

Try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if you:

• have any symptoms of COVID-19, and have a high temperature or you do not feel well enough to go to work or do your normal activities
• have tested positive for COVID-19 – this means it's very likely you have the virus

You should avoid being in close contact with people at higher risk from COVID-19.

This is particularly important if their immune system means they're at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19, even if they've had a COVID-19 vaccine.
